APPRAISING:  A CAREER OF VALUE.

Since 1938, the Appraisal Institute of Canada has been servicing the Canadian public by advancing and maintaining high standards of professional practice in the valuation analysis and counseling regarding real property matters.  The Institute has also served the professional by demonstrating a commitment at the highest level of professionalism.

Members of the Appraisal Institute of Canada go through a comprehensive training program that give appraisers a sound background in residential, commercial, agricultural and investment real estate appraising. The Institute grants two professional designations, attained after completing an academic program augmented with practical work experience. CRA's (Canadian Residential Appraiser) appraise residential properties.  AACI's (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute) approach a wide range of real property.

Designation is only the first step, however. The Appraisal Institute of Canada also requires its members to participate in on-going educational programs that keep members up-to-date and informed.  Members are also bound to practice according to a Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice, regulated through the Institute's Professional Standards.
